SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETED PROJECT - THE ACTION CONTINUES During the realization of the project, socially jeopardized people from Palilula got free professional help by doctors, sociologists, psychologists, lawyers and gerontological nurses, said PhD Igor Novakovic, president PalilulaMunicipality at the press conference organized in Media Centre, Nis. Novakovic emphasized that the project was not continued although it was obvious that is necessary to local community, since many people belong to this group and are not in possibility to help themselves. The benefits of the project are various. First of all, we provided necessary medical, legal and psycho-social help to venerable groups. They could use services of geronto nurses. Beside, within the project, we have trained people for work with venerable groups. We employed 10 people, on terminate job obligations terms 10 people were included. We have made the data basis of socially jeopardized people of Palilula and in the same time we spread the basis of Centre for social work `Sveti Sava``. Beside, many users of the services we have introduced with the rights that they have regarding social protection, since our mobile teams have seen that many of them actually do not know where to go, to which institution for their needs or question-emphasized Novakovic. Since the sustainability of the project was not provided, the president of the Municipality announced that Palilula, within its authorization spheres, will continue to take care about this part of its population, and has already given the application with new project and the other one is also in process of preparation. Mobile teams were daily included and on duties in local community buildings in Palilula. They were also available for visiting homes of the people. In this way the saving of 10, 000 Euro was made. ` We visited people at their homes and in this way we released them as users of the services for bus tickets and participation by which we made great savings – emphasized Stojadinovic, manager of the project and added that mobile teams mostly were on duties in rural parts where medical institutions are missing. During the project 70 people got material help thanks to the work of our lawyers, said Stojadinovic. The total value of the project is 140, 000 euro. The money was provided by European Union, project was implemented by Palilula Municipality in the partnership with the Centre for social work `Sveti Sava` and in cooperation with Bulgarian municipality Djustendil. |
